After a very stressful, panicked, and anxiety filled hour my second trip of the day down Riverside Drive was met with an extremely blinding but beautiful sunset. And as the sun sets on the month of April, I can't help but freak out about the fact that OHMYGOSH tomorrow is the first day of MAY! The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and I don't know if my anxious self can handle that. I'm torn with not wanting this year to end while also looking forward to getting to fly across the freaking ocean with my best friend (in two months!!!)...

There is always, always, always, something to be thankful for.
In this case...I have a pathetic picture of the day...but I am thankful for the dinners that I get to have with my Daddy around this table. And I needed a picture and the light on above the table stood out to me...so I took the picture...and posted it...

Bring it on Oklahoma! I do believe that tornado season is upon us...
I watched the clouds engulf the sky on my afternoon trip to Brookside and witnessed like 3 different spurts of rain during both my trips to and from Tulsa Ballet. So it apparently is only beautiful and warm on the weekend...you gotta love Oklahoma ;)

You know it's a good day when this is what is on your computer screen all day long. :) I LOVE having projects to work on that I am seriously psyched about!!!
But seriously. ALL DAY spent working with my trusty sidekick (my MacBook) is a day well spent!

Describe your perfect date:
That's a tough one. I would have to say, April 25th. Because it's not too hot and not too cold, all you need is a light jacket!
It's April 25th! The perfect date according to Miss Rhode Island :)
AND it truly was a beautiful day today! So much so, that I (being the dedicated 365-er that I am) stopped on the RiverWalk trail on Riverside on the way home from picking up Bess from dance to get a picture of the day... AND only one person that we could visibly see gave us a strange look (who knows how many people gave us strange looks from the road...) but we don't care...because that's just what we do!

Oh how I love the comfort of getting back into the normal routine that is my after-school schedule. It's strange how something so incredibly repetitive as driving to Tulsa Ballet every afternoon can change the length of my afternoons when I don't spend close to two hours on the road (on nights when I pick up Bess)....just saying...
Happy Thursday! Today was the first day this entire week that I've had to tear up Riverside Drive (due to a sick ballerina) and I must say, I've really missed getting to have my quality sister time this week!

And...you know...how could I pass up another picture of the Oklahoma sky!?! Oh Oklahoma! You get me everytime! ;)

22 Days of School left!!! WHAT!?!
Can it really be college search time already!?!
AHHH!!!
This evening my college search partner and I had a semi-successful (but good) time researching schools and majors and financial information and housing situations and classes and test scores and random out-of-nowhere degrees and calculated distances and time frames and OHMYGOSH this is seriously crazy...

Gosh! I love these people!!!
I am so incredibly thankful that I have had the pleasure of being a part of this fantastic class!!! I have honestly never had a class like this one before...ever. I have this group of people to thank for my daily ab workout...due to the fact that I get my laughter fix right here in this very classroom.
Gosh! I love this class!!!
We have Mrs. Haack to thank for creating the most welcoming and comfortable environment in this school!
We ALL love Mrs. Haack so very much!!!
She is the most wonderful French teacher at Bixby High School!
French III/IV is where the party's at each and every day!!!
So, joyeux anniversaire madame!!! Nous vous aimons très beaucoup!!!
I can't even explain to you how much these people mean to me...
Gosh!!!

Today's picture was a tricky one to choose...
We played Millie Bornes (the French card game) again in French and so I made my friends pose and everything to get a picture of the day, because I never do anything exciting...right?
And then we decided to become super secret party planners after school...and that seemed like a more accurate portrayal of the events of my afternoon...
So I would like to personally apologize to Erin and Jacqueline because you are not in today's picture ;) But you'll make it back on the blog! I promise! :)
ANYWAY
It's birthday time for a certain special French teacher of ours!!! We blew up 100 balloons and only managed to pop one by the time we had finished decorating the room! And strung streamers all over the ceiling...after we finally found some streamers...
We had a very productive afternoon if I do say so myself ;)

Oh what a happy afternoon spent with these wonderful people! After my morning helping with the Open House at Tulsa Ballet ("No, I still can't answer any of your questions ma'am...I'm just a volunteer, I don't actually work here.") surprising Bess with a girls day with Miss Lee was the perfect energy boost! A slight change of plans sent us to Utica Square for a Starbucks date...and what's a Starbucks date without a picture or two to prove you were really there!?!
They even spelled Miss Lee's name right without her telling them how it was spelled and didn't even bat an eye at Bess's name that she gave them. "Scout"...no To Kill a Mockingbird fans back there? Oh well ;)

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching...we only have 5 weeks of school left (WHAT!?!) and you know what that means! It's AP season for high schoolers across America (and what else is better than 4 hour long tests!?!...besides everything...)
We filled out all of our AP test paperwork during 6th hour today (which me and my friend thought would get us out of our AP Stat quiz...but the quiz was postponed anyway...) so I guess it's time to get into the AP mindset...right?

Yes. I did bring my nice, fancy camera to school today.
Yes. I took nice, fancy pictures outside in the sunshine that could have been a beautiful picture of the day.
Yes. This is the picture I chose as my picture of the day.
Yes. It's absolutely terrible quality and blurry.
Yes. I took the instagram version of it because no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the original to appear any less blurry or better quality because it's an iPhone picture, inside, and I couldn't get my hands to stop shaking because I had pretty much been laughing for a good two hours by this point in the evening.
Yes. This is another post with/about people in my French class.
I spent the evening with the "super six" (as Jacqueline deemed us) from French III/IV for Amish Dinner (along with some people from other French classes, German classes, and FCA...I think...) We probably had the most fun out of the entire bus from Bixby. (Well we were definitely the group laughing the most consistently and the loudest...)
I did not know that there was an Amish community in Oklahoma! When I think of Amish communities, I think of the ones in Pennsylvania and the Amish Market in Annapolis, but lookie here! We've got an Amish community about an hour away from Bixby! Who knew!?! (and apparently there are Amish communities all over the country...just to prove how smart and well rounded I am...)
Tonight, I learned way more about my friends than I was ever expecting to...and we also learned that Apple Butter does NOT have any butter in it whatsoever...and neither does peanut butter (which is why its translated as "peanut paste" in French)...and Amish rolls are extremely popular with the high school crowd...and it's surprisingly difficult to get a cup of water at this place...and little rectangular packets of butter look a lot like little chocolates...and chocolate pie is just chocolate pudding on a pie crust...and there's such thing as powdered coffee creamer...and little Amish babies are really cute.
(Erin! You've made the blog again!!!)

We're learning about color in our current photography unit in journalism...(hence the color wheel) and we went out into the "field" to practice with color. So lucky me that I have a permanent partner and she just so happened to be wearing complementary colors with the grass on the day we had to find complementary colors! And she's a dancer so...yeah. Another group used her to foot model for them too. She must be famous or something like that ;)

EOI testing (similar to the HSA only easier) has commenced at Bixby High School, but does that mean increased studying and productivity in the classrooms? Of course not!
For example, I spent the first hour and a half of my day taking my English EOI (super easy by the way, especially compared to all the AP practice tests we've been taking) and when I got to journalism we were painting and mixing colors to create color wheels! WHAT?!? I'm not complaining! Then when I got to French we played this fantastic card game that is extremely hard to explain...but I must say, my group got very VERY into the game and were in tears we were laughing so hard. So what if the other two groups were giving us strange glances? We were having fun and that was ALL that mattered! And I need my energy boost in fourth hour which I've come to gain through our hysteria...I'm actually slightly dependent on a good group laugh between 10:50 and 12:19. THEN I went back to testing for another hour and fifteen-ish minutes. When I got to my AP Stat class, they were learning a new test to perform on the calculator while using/eating Fruit Loops. WHAT!?! FRUIT LOOPS!?! (...then I did real work in my AP English class...but that's not important...)

Somehow I found myself flipping through old pictures this evening instead of doing something productive (what else is new...) but I absolutely love going through the massive amounts of pictures because somehow they ALWAYS make me laugh...ALWAYS.
But did I find what I originally went into the guest room to find? Of course not! ;)

Oklahoma, where the winds seriously do come sweeping down the plains. Bring it on Oklahoma!
It's obvious which family on this street has lived here just long enough to not freak out during a tornado watch yet still new enough to stand out in the yard and watch the storm swallow the Oklahoma spring sky...
Yes. We're those people...
But it was really incredible to witness the dramatic and rapid change in the sky in a matter of minutes...
...This would be the point where I would add a witty Wizard of Oz quote about the storm, but...there aren't any quotes that would be witty enough to make it onto my 365 about the twister...
so here's a random one to add to your day:

Both a symbolic look at the past and the future...
1. Lizzie McGuire is the bomb dot com* and I really miss what TV shows used to be like in the early 2000s. This movie is fantastically nostalgic and awesome!
2. OHMYGOSH MEGAN WE'RE GOING TO ITALY!!!! Which one of us is going to get mistaken for a famous Italian pop star and become our own pop sensation while we're across the pond??? ;)
*i read something about how to tell if you're too close with your best friend and one of the examples was catching on to their catchphrases...I just said "bomb dot com"... ohmygosh...

While the cats are away, these mice will most definitely play...a High School Musical movie marathon...
It's girls night!!! So I'm sure every teenager orders pizza and proceeds to watch throwback movies and sing along with all the songs while they have the house to themselves...right?
Oh, that's not normal? Oh well!!!
Me and Bess...I guess we're "breaking free" from the "status quo" so that we can be "all in this together"
Yes. I did just make High School Musical references.
Thank you Mr Patterson for playing "We're All In This Together" at the final pep rally of the year today, or else we NEVER would have thought to watch these movies tonight! :)

How to do AP Stat homework 101:
Text your best friend during the duration of any and all homework (Stat or something else...it really doesn't matter) and suddenly the homework will become background work while the real point of the evening is to focus on long distance best friend stuff via text. ;)

We've officially started our field work for our photography unit in Journalism and I must say I have a pretty photogenic camera partner ;)
We're working on how to adjust the aperture to change to look of a picture...so of course my "artsy" pictures turned out terrible!
But I decided to go with this one for my picture of the day.
Why? Because it's a fun, "I'm going to make a stupid face because I don't feel like posing" kind of picture! :)

French III Juniors representing today (plus me...representing French IV...but no biggie...)
It's senior skip day so all my seniors decided to not show up for school today...
(There's two more rows of empty desks in this classroom not in this picture!)
We definitely spent the class period learning copious amounts of French! ;)
We totally had a more exciting day than those seniors who spent the day at the zoo...that's for sure ;)
BUT in all seriousness...I love this class so much! What am I going to do next year when the seniors really are gone for good!?! AHHH!!!
No...stop Emma.
Don't freak out.
It's good to grow up.
No.
It really is!
It's the next step in your life.
Emma.
You are going to be at the top next year.
AHHH!
Don't freak out.
Breathe!
It's going to be okay.

Pretty much how I spent today...
(well I went to church but then took full advantage of a lazy day after prom!)
My feet and my legs were definitely not happy with having to spend the night in heels, but it was worth it! I had a fantastic time at the dance and am so thankful for the time spent with my fabulous seniors!! :)

I'm so glad I got to spend the afternoon getting ready with both of you!! You both are so beautiful and wonderful and fantastic and awesome! :)
I also spent the evening with a group of fabulous and beautiful girls and truly enjoyed getting to spend the time I did with all of you!! #peaceoutgirlscout ;)

April 2
I love this woman so much!!! She is just fabulous! She graciously agreed to come over today after school to do a practice run with my hair so that we would have a plan for what to do on Saturday for PROM!!! She did a wonderful job (I really did love it ;) ) and I had a blast getting to just hang out with her for a little while after school!
When I asked if she would be in my picture of the day she said, "Are we going to take a mirror selfie with a DSL!?!" and then, of course we had to:

I've started embracing the life of a Tulsa Ballet employee child. Today I got to spend the afternoon helping with costume stuff which was all together awesome! Costume season was ALWAYS my favorite time of the dance year and it was so cool to see how organized one must be to keep all these tiny costumes in order as the end of the year rapidly approaches. Bess's class ended at 6:45 tonight (a rare early night for this point in the season!) so I stayed down in Brookside until class was finished. By the time we got home...I was starving! (this isn't a new thing for me...I'm pretty much always hungry...oh well) We were greeted with the fantastic smell of homemade dumplings as we walked through the garage door! I seriously have a fantastic dad!
