You know what's super awesome?

Life at college.

I absolutely LOVE spending time with these pretty wonderful girls!

Yes Zumba with only four people plus a fifth one observing is awkward...especially with other people working out in the room...

But it's lots of fun just having fun and laughing with people who are all in the same point in life at the same place right now.

I'm so thankful for the fantastic friends here that make life pretty awesome.

Meet my roommate, Jansen!

She's pretty fantastic for lots of reasons, but she jumped on board right away to go exploring around campus with me to get a picture of the day and that was pretty fun!

It's absolutely gorgeous here...and it's starting to feel like fall and I could not be happier to see the first sign of fall on a tree right outside our building's front door!!

Thankful for a beautiful evening to walk around campus talking to Bess on the phone for over an hour!

Incredibly thankful for coffee dates with three beautiful friends!

SO excited to have them by my side as we start this crazy new chapter in our lives!

Guys, my school is really cool.

...and talented...

We had our first U-Church tonight (it's a special occasion kind of chapel where there's a concert one night that you can get chapel credit for, tonight it was the Freshman Choir...who had one night to prepare for this). Holy smokes. The talent on and off the stage was beyond incredible! The Conn Center was full of Jesus lovin' people and it was truly amazing to see the love that people have spilling out right here on campus.

August 15

Today was hard.

Not gonna lie.

Because I had to say "see you later" to my favorite people on the planet.

And that was hard.

But you know what was good?

Getting to spend the day with my mom around campus.

That was really really good for me, ya know?

We went on a photo safari around campus and laughed a lot about everything while exploring!

I'm going to miss this woman a whole stinkin' lot.

I love you!!!

You know what's awesome?

Check-In/Move-In Day is the day before orientation so that means I get to keep hanging out with my beautiful family!! (Who I already miss terribly!)

Thankful for teams of athletes to unload cars and deliver stuff to dorm rooms and for buying last minute things at Target with all the other Lee Freshmen and their moms!

I absolutely ADORE big family dinners around this table! And right now,  I'm freaking out about this whole "moving into college" thing, but being surrounded by some of my most favorite people on Earth was a really REALLY good distraction!!

When people ask me why I chose Lee...this right here is my answer.

Laughing around the table with these Trew's is actually fantastic and I highly recommend it to everyone.

You know who's awesome?

These people.

If you don't think they're the greatest people on the planet, then you're insane.

As we make our way to Jackson, I could not be more thankful for them.

They drove the car that was loaded down with ALL of my dorm stuff as well as the U-Haul, which was loaded down with ALL of Bess' contribution to her apartment! And they let Bess and I road trip the nine hours together just the two of us (every sister's little girl dream to get to go on a road trip with just each other!...wait...maybe that was just us...I don't know...) and have a sister night sleepover in an apartment that Bess belongs to (another one of our weird dreams...) and eat pizza and share ice cream with super cool Ballet Mag people!

Here's to two very awesome people!

Who also just so happen to always look good together (but this Louisiana light is fun!)

I love you both more than warm chocolate chip cookies!!

This sight is so surreal and freaky and overwhelming

but also a little successful because my college stuff actually fits in the trunk of this car and only the trunk of this car!!

We're driving two cars and the biggest trailer U-Haul and my wonderful mother managed to cram very strategically all this stuff into this small space.

I'm super thankful for my mom who was the mastermind behind the packing (and did most of it while I stared at all my stuff freaking out)!!

Honestly

I'm not the best packer in the world.

And I'm not doing so well packing and getting stuff ready for college.

Because, you know, it's kind of scary...

getting stuff ready for this new adventure.

But I have been very productive in getting Bess hooked on Friends.

And spending the afternoon in Bess' princess bed with my sister is a whole lot more fun than packing.

While official and complete French reunions haven't really worked out this summer,

I'm very thankful for these little adventures that have come out of it.

Waking up before sunrise can hurt, but boy is it worth it to get to experience the brink of a new day outside with some pretty awesome people! Thankful for sunrise hikes and breakfast dates with some people that I'll miss a whole stinkin' lot!!

I am so INCREDIBLY thankful for an afternoon spent with Savannah!!

I did a dumb thing and managed to go all summer without spending time with this fantastic human and I've learned that I can never let that happen again!!

How I'm going to survive completing college assignments without her, I don't know...

(I got Tennessee, Bess got Mississippi, and Mom and Dad both got Oklahoma themed glasses...you get it, right?)

Extremely thankful for Dad's steak, personal pieces of Naan, and homemade mashed potatoes...because my life basically revolves around food all the time
