June 30

Thankful for summer-like treats on the terrace while the Thursday night outdoor concert goes on below us :)

June 29

Originally my picture of the day was going to document a trip to Chipolte
but then this happened:

Mom and I started this puzzle after lunch and with Dad's help in the evening,
we completed an entire 1,000 piece puzzle in one afternoon
(and were very proud of ourselves for it...)
So it warranted a changed in the picture of the day ;)

June 28

An evening in with myself calls for Harris Teeter sushi (which would have looked prettier had I not let it flip upside down in the bag) and reality tv :)

June 27

It's celebration day!!
Happy Happy Birthday to my adventure buddy, my new fellow Netflix binger, and my super awesome and beautiful mom!!
I love you more than {Best Buns} cupcakes from the village :)

June 26

Fun new find around George Washington University :)

June 25

Greetings from the (Old) Eisenhower Executive Office Building

June 24

Always fun watching my urban parents show off their village,
especially with Tulsa friends :)

June 23

Pro: Being able to walk to the movie theater
Con: Being locked out and standing outside with all the moms and little kids waiting to get inside to see Finding Dory

Overall, I am super thankful for my morning mom-daughter Pixar date :)

June 22

After a very full week of adventuring,
today's adventure consisted of walking down the stairs, down the street to our favorite Mediterranean place, and back up to our apartment with our dinner.
And somehow I ended up out of breath when we reached our floor...yikes...

June 21

I'm so thankful for the extremely fun and adventurous week of touring we've had with this one!!

And what a fun way to end the week with Georgetown Cupcakes for breakfast (with NO line and a table inside!!)

We took about 6,000 pictures of each cupcake before they were consumed,
so if that doesn't prove our touristy nature,
nothing will.

June 20

National Treasure lied about how accessible the supposed President's Book of Secrets would be,
BUT the Library of Congress was SO beautiful, I'll have to forgive Disney for the little let down ;)

June 19

Extra Super Thankful for my awesome Dad today who spent his Sunday morning with us taking in Downtown Annapolis. He's super fantastic and we got Maryland Crab Cakes out of a family style adventure which was a super fun treat!!

Happy Father's Day to the best of the best!!

AND we had an evening adventure to the Lincoln Memorial!!
Double the adventure, double the 365 post!

June 18

Taking a break from taking in the city to explore our village for the day.
Thanks Aunt Jaime for finding a new spot for lunch with me, scoping out the local movie theater (to see Me Before You!!), and treating us to dinner :)

June 17

Jaime Lee makes everything about this city so much fun!!
And how cool is it that we got to take this history teacher on a tour of the White House with our own personal agent/guide!?!

Seriously!! Check out this joy!! :)

June 16

I highly recommend visiting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum when you're in DC.
It was so eye opening to get to listen to and meet Susan Warsinger, a Holocaust survivor.

Also, how cute are these two teachers meeting each other!?!

June 15

Starting at the very beginning with a day at the home of our very first president :)

June 14

Oh what a cool experience it was to see the Marine Corps Sunset Parade at Arlington Cemetery to kick off our week of touristy adventures!

June 13

I've really started dropping the ball with getting an appropriate picture of the day and completely didn't think to take an actual picture from our fun lunch with super fun people...

But I'm so thankful for a fun afternoon getting to catch up with the Barnards!

June 12

Here's another iPhone picture with the laptop glare of my FaceTime date with Bess because I miss her AND she makes me smile a lot :)

June 11

I love that we're getting to explore and find things here that we've never been to before. Roosevelt Island was definitely a cool thing to add to our list! For a second it's as if you're not in the middle of the bustling city anymore, but tucked away in some super cool national forrest (which you are...it just happens to be in the middle of the Potomac River!)

June 10

I love that Bess called us while she was making dinner so that we could all have Friday night dinner together :)

Isn't she just the cutest!?!

June 9

Thanks Dad for a spontaneous walk to our local Mexican Restaurant :)

June 8

I love that she makes everything sound and feel like an adventure :)
Like walking through our little village of shops to try the local Frozen Yogurt place!

June 7

Oh what an adventure it was exploring Georgetown with these fun ladies :)

June 6

Always an adventure exploring on beautiful mornings like these :)

June 5

I've officially gotten her hooked on The Office and it's absolutely fantastic!!

June 4

Thankful for an awesome Mom who indulges in my spontaneous desires to try to be crafty :)

June 3

Mandatory FaceTime with Bess because she just finished Friends...
and I MISS HER!!

June 2

Things to add to the pro column about life here--sweet treats across the street, a library steps away from the stairs of the building, and a cozy terrace to enjoy the summertime air with a new book :)

June 1

SO excited that through the madness of school groups in and around the American History Museum we were able to find a little piece of Oklahoma right here in Washington DC!! I love my mom's love for all things Route 66 :)
