The elective fair...or is it the activities fair (?)...I don't really know...
Anyway...
The club/elective/activity fair was today at school in the multipurpose building. It was an all day event where the 8th graders were bused over every hour to walk around and look at what the high school has to offer as far as electives to take during the day and clubs to join after school. I was working at the Junior Optimist Club table. Not the most popular club among 14 year olds...but I had a good time with the girl I was working with! I learned a lot while I was out at the fair for 3.5 hours too, such as:
8th graders are awkward.
Was I that awkward? (of course...and I'm still fairly awkward in situations such as this today...at 17 years old)
Ummmmm.....
That's all I can think of really....
But I got to miss two of my classes this morning so that was a plus!
During the 10ish minute breaks between buses of 8th graders (every hour there would be a break) I hung out with my fellow French club friends who were having an equally awkward experience with these 8th graders. It was a really great experience though and I'm glad I was able to help out and spread the word about this new club at Bixby.
