Every Tuesday and Thursday (weather permitting most of the time) my dad and I walk 2 miles around the neighborhood in the morning before school. It's a great way to start the morning getting to have daddy-daughter time and exercise. Get the blood pumping before heading to school. The past month and a half it has been getting darker and darker at 6:50 in the morning and colder and colder. In case anyone has been living under a rock (a very tight, warm, secluded rock) the entire country is under a deep freeze...but that didn't stop us from going on our walk this morning. No sir! We are warriors! And I believe it was 34 degrees when we left so it wasn't even below freezing! It was practically a heat wave...until we realized that the majority of the sidewalks were covered in ice. Cue iPhone picture from 7:13 this morning:
The ice created a challenge that made something so routine appear different and put me at a slower pace than usual...but not by much and I made up my time in un-icy areas and walking in the grass. ;)
I was hesitant at first to go for our walk this morning because I thought it was raining and cold and apparently icy but I'm glad that I did because, like my Daddy always says, exercising really does put you in a better mood. I tend to show up at school in a better mood on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of that time. So, thanks Daddy for walking with me this morning!
You are welcome Emma. I love our daddy daughter time too. Thanks for being willing to brave the cold wet sometimes so we can do it.
