January 4

The most productive thing that was accomplished today was managing to get ourselves all the way out to 71st street and tackling the Barnes and Noble in Broken Arrow. Us and 5,000,000 of our closest friends decided that today would be the perfect day to spend the afternoon in a bookstore spending Christmas money that was apparently burning a hole in our pockets (even though Christmas was exactly 10 days ago) ... But who am I to judge the way people live their lives? Bess and I each had a gift card to spend and we were determined to get something awesomely noteworthy and representative of the fabulous lady who gave us this Christmas present. (PS if you're reading this...YOU'RE AWESOME!!!) Well bookstores are the sacred grounds of the bookworms, the nerds, and the introverts, not really the place to have packed with tons of people, all crowding the aisles deciding on which cat calendar would look best in their living rooms. (Well, I don't know...they could have all been bookworms, nerds, and introverts but I guess I can't assume that they were ALL there to get a dog yoga calendar or not) I was starting to get frustrated because I couldn't find the perfect book to take home with me and then I happened to look up and made magical eye-contact with this little beauty:

Full disclosure:

1.) I probably should have bought a thought provoking or enticing novel, but none of them were doing it for me today.
2.) Mindy Kaling is awesome.
3.) This book is like having a "real talk" awesomely hilarious conversation with a really close friend.
4.) (I know there should really only be three examples but I need this fourth one too...) This was a great pick because it's a feel good, make you happy kind of book. A good book for anyone in my opinion. (Unless you prefer classic romanic era novels, then I would recommend you stick to those if you would like)

PS) Can you tell I don't like crowds ;)
